HISTORY

Patience grew up with his twin sister in the deep forests of Kilia, where the mamkutes secluded themselves from the outside world. In this sheltered existence, he led a very quiet life, learning the dragon lore about such things as magic, the War of Secrets, and the outside world. Other than the learning, the one constant in Patience’s life was his sister Prudence’s presence…through all eleven years of their life, they were almost never apart for even a moment.

This peaceful life was changed suddenly one month ago, when the mamkutes decided current events warranted a change in location. Along the way, Patience and Prudence became separated from the rest of the group and were not able to find their way to the hidden caves in the Kilian mountains which had been their destination. Lost, the twins find themselves alone in a world they don’t know much about, except for the stories they have been told. While Patience was quite scared about being a lone, part of him was excited by the idea of seeing firsthand all that he’s heard about, and hearing more stories that the mamkute elders had not known.

Soon after being seperated from their family, the twins found themselves seperated from each other, as Patience headed east with Helga and Prudence headed west with Kerrick and Mallory. This seperation was even more of a shock to Patience than being apart from the tribe had been, but gradually he found himself becoming more and more used to being on his own, looking out for himself instead of relying on Prudence to do it for him. He also began to accept the fact that his tribe appears to have abandonned the twins, not even sending a single person to look for them.

On their journey towards Helga's home, the pair found themselves in Floran and after Helga's actions caused a chain reaction leading to a building collapse, Patience was forced to shift into his dragon-form in order to save his friend. He has sworn her to secret about this, but is still quite concerned about it getting out (and reasonably so). Now they are travelling through Atsiria, trying to reunite with Prudence, and have come across a tribe in this desert country that may hold an important key for Patience and what he seeks.

After Helga's talk of flying made the tribe seem alarmed and potentially dangerous, Patience decided they should leave and soon made their way to a nearby orrery. Here Patience found a logbook which records the existence of a man who could fly but had no wings, or none that could be seen. Believing this could potentially be the tale of someone like him and his sister, a mamkute living amoung the world of humans, he was eager to learn more, hoping to perhaps find a clue as to what happened to his tribe.

After rather dangerously wandering around in the desert for some time, Helga and Patience discovered a patch of rocks surrounding a shallow cave. They sought shelter from the cold desert night inside the cave. When they awoke, they discovered signs of previous habitation and decided to explore.

In the back corners of the cave, Patience discovered a stone that, to normal eyes, looked just like any other stone. But he recognized it for what is was, an Elder Stone of the Mamukete tribe, used to give one power. It had been damaged by use and erosion, but it was still powerful, and he decided to learn to use it, to become stronger and learn more.

Helga and Patience continued their journey through the desert, trying to reach Dentoria. Instead they ended up in Razen, which while quite off course provided them with much needed food, shelter, and water. They remained in the city for some time with only a few minor incidents (including the eating of a puppy by Patience). However soon Patience became anxious to leave, wanting to reach his sister, whom he had been seperate from for so long.

While in Razen, Patience became seperate from Helga and was finally completely on his own. Frightened, he turned to the journals for advice, which in turn led him looking for help by the city's docks. Eventually, Patience managed to secure passage on a ship, in exchange for labour. At Kevan, he went onboard another ship, this was heading towards Dentoria and towards where Rina's inn was located. He reached his destination safely and finally, after over a year, Patience and Prudence were reunited.

However, a new conflict soon emerged: while Prudence was happy remaining where she was, Patience's desire to find their tribe and go home was renewed. However, Prudence did not share in this, as she was quite happy and settled with Rina at the inn. Patience couldn't understand why she was so willing to stay, but eventually began making plans to try and find their tribe by himself. The onset of winter has delayed his plans, but has no lessened his need to go home.

When spring finally came, Patience discovered that Prudence still did not want to leave. Eventually, he decided to head out on his own, however he did not get far before he was abducted by a strange group and found himself taken in the opposite direction, towards Atsiria. After travelling for many months, Patience was brought to the groups hideout on the outskirts of Cleraine. He was questioned about what he was and what he could do constantly, but did his best to say nothing. He knew that if he could just keep quiet for long enough, Prudence would get there with her friends and rescue them. It took longer than he wanted or expected, but eventually he did escape, only to have the group capture Prudence in his place. Then it was his turn to rescue her and try to figure out what these strange people were after in the first place.

PERSONALITY

Patience has changed a fair amount in the past year, though he still retains much of who he was before. He is a very soft-spoken boy, who often is uncertain when he does speak up. However he has gained much confidence and has become slightly more independent, though he still would rather not be alone.

What hasn't changed is Patience's curiousness about the world: he still loves to learn new things and gain new skills. However his longing to go home does put a limit on the curiosity, because it is his primary wish.

Due to their long separation and different paths, Patience is a bit uncertain how to deal with his sister now. While he is still more submissive than she, he is not going to be ordered around as much as he used to let her and he also knows that he can survive being away from her, even if he'd rather not be.

APPEARANCE

Patience is a small child, with light pink hair which he wears in a gravity-defying ponytail. He has large grey eyes and a mouth that is usually smiling. He usually wears a cloak, in order to hide his wings (when he gets older, he will be able to hide his wings if he wants, but right now he is too young)
